About See Through Sea

Since 2019, See Through Sea has been setting the bar for our one-of-a-kind ocean tours and offshore wildlife safaris in Kona, Hawaii. Join us on a trip into the deep blue exploring the Pacific Ocean’s pelagic environment, where we specialize in finding, observing and interacting with some of the most unique animals in Hawaiian waters.

Mission

OUR MISSION

At See Through Sea, our mission is to guide unforgettable experiences with Hawaii's offshore wildlife-rooted in respect, education, and a lifelong love for the sea. We believe that awe is the gateway to appreciation, and appreciation is the foundation of ocean stewardship.

Every encounter is an opportunity to slow down, observe, and engage with the natural world on it's own terms. Through steady leadership, profound offshore expertise and a keen eye, we create space for guests to experience the ocean not as spectators - but as part of it.

OUR WILDLIFE ETHOS

Our approach to wildlife encounters is grounded in patience and observation. We don't chase animals, and we don't force interactions. We always strive to read behavior, move with intention, and meet animals on their terms. The ocean is not a zoo; as operators in the eco-tourism industry, it’s essential that we protect the sovereign and wild nature of every creature we come across. Each encounter is unscripted, shaped by the rhythms of the sea and the will of its inhabitants. We believe that the best experiences come when we slow down, stay observant, and allow wildlife to choose the terms of engagement.

Our team brings a trained eye, exceptional in-water ability, and a specialized understanding of Hawaii’s pelagic species and their behavior to every situation. That foundation allows us to operate efficiently and effectively in open ocean - minimizing our impact, while maximizing the potential for meaningful moments. We aim to create experiences that inspire awe without intrusion, and connection without expectation. The goal isn't just to see wildlife - it's to see through the surface, and leave with a deeper appreciation for the world beneath it.

Guidig Philosophy

OUR GUIDING PHILOSOPHY

"Don't get excited. Never get complacent."

At sea, clarity and composure are everything. This motto reflects the mindset our guides and captains bring to every trip offshore - a balance of presence, precision, and professionalism.

"Don't get excited" reminds us that while our encounters are thrilling for our guests, staying calm keeps our judgment sharp and our expectations grounded as guides.

"Never get complacent" speaks to our commitment to vigilance - no matter how familiar the conditions or how many times we've seen a species before, the ocean is unpredictable.

This attitude ensures the safety of our guests, and allows our crew to operate with quiet confidence in the dynamic environment we call home.
